Welcome To

Catawba Island Club

We hope we can share with you a slice of heaven right here in Ohio.

The original Catawba Cliffs Beach Club was constructed in the 1920s as a private resort family-oriented facility. The concept of family friendly, therefore, is a 90-year tradition and this tradition is an even stronger part of our culture today. Members and their families gather at CIC to renew friendships, make new friends and pass the time with loved ones. Club activities and events are conceived to provide a wide range of choices for all age groups across third and fourth generation CIC family members. The Catawba Island Club was given its new life as a premier yachting and country club in 1968 by the family of Jim Stouffer Sr. The club has been owned and operated by the Stouffer family since its inception and it is now the son of Jim Stouffer Sr. and his daughters who oversee this beautiful club located on the North Shore of Ohio on the western basin of Lake Erie. CIC is known for its beautiful natural location and is nestled on the northwestern end of the Catawba Peninsula. We are just over a one- hour drive from Cleveland and its suburbs, less than an hour from Toledo, less than two hours from Detroit, Michigan, and just over 2 hours from Buckeye country in Columbus, Ohio. CIC has always been a family-friendly club with many multigenerational families making CIC their home away from home. These families have enjoyed some of their fondest times at one of our pools, on the golf course, at the tennis courts or just watching our unparalleled sunsets while sipping their favorite beverage.
