Digestive diseases can range in severity from troublesome to life-threatening. Fortunately, new advances in research and technology have greatly improved the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.

The H.H. Chao Comprehensive Digestive Disease Center (CDDC), part of UCI Health, is one of the few facilities in the nation — and the only one in Orange County — to provide state-of-the-art care to patients with digestive diseases, including disorders of the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, colon and rectum.

We also specialize in treating gastroesophageal reflux, achalasia and inflammatory bowel diseases. And we are one of the centers in the nation authorized to perform fecal microbiota transplants (FMT), an experimental treatment that can successfully eradicate deadly gut microbes such as Clostridium difficile.

Our patients receive compassionate care from a multidisciplinary team of clinical experts. These include gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, dietitians, nurses, social workers and case managers.

Together, they create individualized treatment plans to optimize your care and promote the best possible outcomes.
