By drawing on the resources of this pool, a Chamber is able to generate ideas, energy, and funding, while also establishing long-lasting relationships. At the heart of a Chamber of Commerce is the desire to improve the market and the community it serves. A successful Chamber recognizes all of the factors that affect its community and adjusts its programs accordingly. It is important to note that a Chamber of Commerce is not a political body, social service organization, or private advertising agency. Rather, it is a voluntary membership-driven organization that provides direction to the business community's desire to improve their market and community. At the Stewart County Chamber of Commerce, our mission is to promote economic growth and increase tourism by encouraging and supporting our local businesses and organizations. We offer a variety of benefits to our members, including business listing on our website, the opportunity to display your business's cards at our Visitor Center, social media promotion, job postings, and recognition of business and employee achievements. In addition, we offer our members the chance to be featured in our E-Newsletter, selected as Business of the Month, and to host the Chamber Power Hour. New members receive a free ad in the local newspaper, and our ribbon-cutting ceremony for new businesses is featured in the same publication.
