Wound care is a specialty area of physical therapy that involves prevention, assessment, and treatment of acute or chronic wounds that will not heal via traditional wound care methods. Unfortunately, many chronic wounds heal very slowly, do not heal, or worsen despite best efforts for caregivers to promote tissue repair.
