In this dynamic course, students will embark on a journey of musical creation, learning the fundamentals of songwriting and composition. Armed with a foundation in music theory, including essential concepts such as the Circle of 5ths, I, IV, and V chords, and scales, participants will hone their skills in crafting melodies and lyrics that resonate with emotion and meaning. Students are encouraged to come prepared with 4-8 bars of an original melody and lyrics, or they can draw inspiration from published poetry, properly credited, to kickstart their creative process.
