CPIM ABS Bin for Food Service Machinery

A client in the food service industry contracted Northern Precision Plastics to manufacture a bin, used in food service machinery. Working from FDA/NSF approved ABS material, we set our injection molding machinery to work in producing these 11.017" x 5.829" pieces. In addition to the FDA approval necessary for use in food service, we were also required to meet a UL flame rating of UL94HB.

There are some typical product imperfections inherent in the injection molding process, and our client required that each and every unit be free of these. The parts had to be free of flash, sinks, and splay. Further special requirements included tolerances to ±.007" and a contaminant-free production environment.
