Founded in 1973, UW-Whitewater Wheelchair Athletics has played a monumental part in our campus' history. Our program includes a men's and a women's intercollegiate wheelchair basketball team competing at the highest level in the NWBA's intercollegiate division. Our teams have been fortunate to feature many current, past and future Paralympic athletes and coaches. In addition, we aim to provide opportunities to all by offering adaptive recreation opportunities for the campus community via Rec and Intramural Sports. Our facilities include a fully adapted weight room, many basketball chairs and hand-cycles, a multipurpose gym and much more provided by the university.

Throughout the course of a season, the teams will host both an intercollegiate tournament and a juniors tournament in the Williams Center. Both teams also travel around the country competing against other intercollegiate division teams. We would love to have you check out the exciting action at our home events or on the road! Schedule and event information will be posted as it becomes known.

We invite you to continue to scroll and click through our site to see everything Wheelchair Athletics has to offer, including team histories, contact information, event details and information about our summer camp and Cornerstones for Success program!

For more than 150 years, UW-Whitewater has been welcoming students to the Warhawk family, setting them up for success and then challenging them to go places through undergraduate research, a semester abroad, a life-changing internship or leadership in a student organization that is making a difference in the world they may never have thought they could go.
