The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is a global movement with 53 programs in the U.S. and 112 programs across 45 countries, raising over $50 million annually and involving more than 15,000 law enforcement officers worldwide.

Founded in 1981 by Chief Richard LaMunyon in Kansas, LETR began as a vision to engage officers in positive community activities. In North Dakota, LETR has evolved from a 30-mile run into a multi-day relay stretching from Dickinson and Williston to Fargo, culminating at the State Summer Games with over 200 participants.
