Nevada State Railroad Museum

The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City offers excursion train rides on Saturdays and Sundays, February through December, begining 2/6/2016. The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City offers excursion train rides along the historic Boulder Branch Line between Boulder City and Railroad Pass aboard refurbished Pullman Coaches dating back to 1911. During the 40-minute ride, you will hear the history behind the Boulder Branch Line and the railroad's role in the building of Hoover Dam. Our excursion train rides depart the Boulder City Depot every Saturday and Sunday at 10 AM, 11:30 AM, 1 PM and 2:30 PM. Fares are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 through 11. There is no charge for children under the age of 4. We do not operate the trains in January. We offer group rates of $7 per adult for groups of 12 or more adults. In addition, reservations can be made for special runs for schools and groups of 25 or more on Thursdays and Fridays. The rates for school groups is $5 per person (one year of age and older). Non-school group rates on Thursdays and Fridays is $7/adult, $5/child (ages 1 through 11). There is a minimum $125 charge to cover fuel costs. Please call 702-486-5006 for reservations for your group. Upon advance request, a dining car (or even the entire train) can be chartered for events such as birthday parties and wedding receptions. Nevada Veterans Assistance League, Inc.

The Department of Veterans Services (until 1997 known as the Nevada Commission for Veterans Affairs) was created by the Nevada Legislature in 1943. The main focus was to assist veterans and/or their dependents in obtaining veterans benefits from the US Department of Veterans Affairs. In 1990, Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery was opened in Boulder City and in 1991 Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery was opened in Fernley. In 1997, the Nevada Legislature authorized a skilled nursing 180-bed Veterans Home in Boulder City. The Nevada State Veterans Home opened in August. The Nevada Veterans Assistance League, Inc (NVAL) is a non-profit 501c. NVAL was created to meet vital social, cultural, recreation, and psychological needs of the Residents at Nevada State Veterans Home, Boulder City, Nevada. Through NVAL's actions, residents acquire a sense of security, happiness, dignity, independence, and usefulness. We hold an annual golf tournament every February at Boulder Creek Golf Club as our major fundraiser.2002 and presently has 178 residents.
