OSS Solid Waste District
The mission of the Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca Joint Solid Waste Management District was formed in March 1989 under HB 592 which required counties to form single or multi-county solid waste districts.
The District has developed a solid waste plan which ensures disposal capacity for the next 15 years. The District also sponsors waste reduction, recycling and reuse programs designed to increase recycling to meet the state reduction goals.

The Ottawa County golf community has a beautiful secret Oak Harbor Golf Club. This scenic course, formerly known as the Portage Point Golf Club, is located in Oak Harbor, Ohio. It first debuted in 1964 with a breezy nine holes. Today, Oak Harbor Golf Club has evolved into 18 holes that plays from 5300 to 6500 yards, depending on the tees a player selects. Oak House
The Oak House is a psycho-social rehabilitation center in a clubhouse environment. Oak House serves adults in the Ottawa and Erie Counties who are recovering from a mental illness. Oak House helps build a network that allows members to be self-sufficient, productive members of our society.
Members are served lunch Monday - Friday at the Acorn Caf located in the Oak House. Each day between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon members are provided with a wonderful lunch and dessert selection of fruit, pies and cakes.
The mission of the Oak House is to provide a
non-judgmental safe haven for adults recovering from mental illness by enhancing community in vocational, social, recreational and self-sufficiency activities.
Oak House members take pride in their community and show this by picking up trash along a two mile stretch of road. Oak House is used by community organizations for training and meetings.

Oliver H. Perry Lodge No. 341
Oliver H. Perry No. 341 F&AM was established in 1862 when the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Ohio, George Rex, issued a Dispensation authorizing the Freemasons of Port Clinton to form a legal lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. On March 6, 1862 the charter members, along with members of Sandusky Science Lodge No. 50, Bellevue Lodge No. 273, and Detroit Lodge No. 2, held the first meeting at Oliver H. Perry for the purpose of appointing the officers and filling the stations of the lodge.
The first officers were Ira Dutcher, Master, Eli Reynolds, Senior Warden, and James Newcomer, Junior Warden. The officers then took their positions and on March 19,1862 began work when William Cole, who was an Entered Apprentice at Fort Stephenson Lodge No. 225 in Fremont, was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft. At the annual meeting of the Grand Lodge of Ohio on October the 21st of the same year Oliver H. Perry was granted a charter and designated the serial number of 341. Originally a plot of land was designated for a lodge in Port Clinton by Ezekiel Haines in 1828. However, by the time the lodge was formed in 1862 the land had reverted to the owner.
The first lodge meetings were held in the American House which was a part of the Lake House Hotel. In 1866 the lodge moved to the northwest corner of Perry and Madison. Then in 1875 due to rapid growth, the lodge moved the southeast corner of Madison and Second. In 1895 the lodge moved to the corner of Perry and Madison where it stayed until 2008 when the Lodge was moved to its present location at 118 Monroe Street.

Ottawa Broadcasting LLC
WPCR Radio began broadcasting ten years ago in 2008 by Greg & Linda Peiffer with the mission of giving Ottawa County its own local radio station. Since no traditional over-the-air AM or FM broadcasting licenses were available, and the Canadian government has strong control over border-straddling radio signals, Greg decided to put WPCR on the Internet and, at the very least, people could listen while at their computers....little did he know, that in just 10 short years, WPCR's signal can be heard on tablets and iPads, smartphones and WiFi radios and even car radios introduced by Ford, Chrysler, GM, BMW, and Lexus.
As those in Ottawa County began to spread the word that they now had a radio station that carried local news, local weather forecasts and even live play-by-play high school sports, the weekend residents and tourists began spreading the word too. They liked the idea of getting an up-to-date fishing report and weather forecasts during the week while being at their homes and offices in Columbus and Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Detroit. Listener numbers tracked by Google Analytics began to rise from a few hundred to a 100,000+ each and every month.

Ottawa County Board of DD
The Ottawa County Board of Developmental Disabilities a county agency providing direct or contracted services on a daily basis. The Board provides employment and support services to children and adults of all ages, who have developmental disabilities.
Services are provided in early childhood programs, schools, sheltered workshop, private day habilitation agencies and in a variety of other settings where support is needed. Services are provided at no cost and are supported by local, state and federal funds. Services are provided to residents of Ottawa County who meet the eligibility requirements. Our goal is to provide services that enable individuals with disabilities the opportunity to live full lives and contribute back to the communities in which they live.
The Board is comprised of seven members who are appointed by the Ottawa County Commissioners or the Probate Judge. The law requires that at least three of the Board members are family members of individuals who either receive or are eligible to receive, services from the Board. All Board members serve on a voluntary basis with no compensation for their services.
