Business Plus

Business Plus, Inc. is a private sector economic development group focused on job creation and economic development in Southern Idaho. Business Plus began in 1987 when a group of business leaders raised funds to bring Norco Windows and 85 jobs to Twin Falls. The vision of these leaders impacted the city then, and continues to do so almost thirty years later. The vision has evolved to include a regional-focus and support for the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization (SIEDO).

Business Plus was founded in 1987 when Twin Falls business leaders took a proactive approach to bringing in new companies with well-paying jobs. The first such recruitment was that of Boise-based Trus Joist (TJI) with its Norco Window manufacturing plant housed in the old Kellwood pantyhose factory. Business Plus raised $600,000 from private businesses to help Norco purchase the building and bring 85 jobs to Twin Falls. Norco made $3.5M in capital improvements and went on to contribute over $50M in the local economy.

Business Plus went on to recruit Seastrom Manufacturing and Clear Shield National with the creation of over 200 jobs and over $20M in capital outlays. The Magic Valleys improving economy and business climate stimulated even more local businesses and expansions. Example of past direct investments grants and their impact include:
