DR. ERVIN MENDLOVITZ HAS BEEN SERVING NORTHWEST SAN ANTONIO SINCE 1995. DR. MENDLOVITZ IS A NATIVE OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. HE GRADUATED FROM ROBERT E. LEE HS WITH MANY HONORS AND RECEIVED HIS BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BIOLOGY FROM TRINITY UNIVERSITY WHERE HE WAS ELECTED INTO PHI BETA KAPPA ACADEMIC HONOR SOCIETY AND GRADUATED CUM LAUDE.

Dr. Mendlovitz attended Optometry School at the University of Houston College of Optometry. His academic excellence continued in professional school where he received the TOA Proctor Memorial Award of Excellence and the Bausch and Lomb Practice Initiation Award.

While in optometry school, he served an externship at the Indian Health Service Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Degree in Therapeutic Optometry, a designation that allows him to treat most eye disease as well as participate in pre and post op eye care, including Lasik.

Fluent in Spanish, he participated as a lecturer at various Primary Eye Care Seminars in Mexico, Panama and Guatemala. He has served as a Rotarian since 1989 and received his Paul Harris Fellow in 2005. The Numerous charities he supports include the Rotary Foundation, The World Wildlife Fund, The NAACP, The Indian Education Foundation as well as Hebrew University in Israel.

In 2013, Dr. Mendlovitz published his book Galveston 1900: A Storm, A Story of Twin Flames,a novel about love, prejudice and extreme weather.

In 2015, he wrote his second book The Voices of the Descendants: Stories of the 1900 Storm. Dr. Mendlovitz strives to provide excellent, personalized care. He has twice been recognized by Cole Vision as having the highest patient satisfaction rating. When not examining eyes Dr. Mendlovitz enjoys the gym, reading, writing and studying the Kabbalah.
