Founded in 2003 by friends Kenny Prestwich and JD Gardner, the first Costa Vida in Layton, Utah, aimed to offer more than just food - it strived to create memorable experiences for every guest. This commitment to excellence attracted the attention of Sean Collins and Dave Rutter, who became the company's first franchisees. Recognizing the immense potential of the concept, they quickly rose to prominence within the company and ultimately acquired a controlling interest in 2008. Under their visionary leadership, Costa Vida has blossomed into a thriving enterprise with 94 locations and ambitious plans for the future, all while staying true to its founding principles of prioritizing guests and creating Moments of Better.
