Our focus on the future includes a commitment to renewable that isn't just meeting standards -- it is leading the way. Last year we announced the largest clean energy investment in Nevada history, securing 1,001 megawatts of new solar energy and, for the first time, 100 megawatts of energy storage capacity.
These six projects, three in northern Nevada and three in southern Nevada, position us to keep our promise to double renewable energy by 2023 and represent a step forward in our long-term goal of serving customers with 100 percent renewable energy. The addition of these new projects will bring NV Energy's total clean energy portfolio to more than 3.2 gigawatts -- enough renewable energy to power nearly 2 million Nevada homes.
