About The Singletons
The Singletons is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist single-parent families when there is a diagnosis of cancer. The patient may be the single mom, or a single dad or their child who is fighting cancer. Our organization provides practical support in a very specific attempt to offer relief to their stress and to their budget. We exist on grants/foundation giving and of course, financial and physical donations of goods & services from the community.
There is no cost to receive our program services.
Patients are required to commit to living a single lifestyle (ie: no live-in spouse or partner). We do not have an income requirement, nor do we ask about income. If they are able to work while dealing with this dreaded disease, that's great. Once in the program with The Singletons, the families receive assistance with a utility bill six times a year, monthly meals which are freshly prepared, then frozen for convenient storage. In addition, families also receive a monthly box of 'Bare Necessities' according to their choosing.
These may include items such as toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, lotion, disinfecting wipes and more ~all the household 'consumables' which we all use in our own home on a daily basis.
Throughout the year, special family activities are planned so parents and children can enjoy safe, and happy memory-maker moments together.
