Environmental Pest Management, Inc. was started by Jim Rice in 1974, as Rice Exterminating Company. Through the years, with the advancement of technology, training, and environmental, health and safety concerns, exterminators have evolved into Pest Management Professionals. In 2000, the company incorporated the business and changed its name to Environmental Pest Management, Inc (formerly Environmental Pest Control). In 2002, Jim's son, Jeff, joined the business full-time after graduating from IUP with a degree in business management.

Environmental Pest Management, Inc. gives back to the community by supporting organizations including Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Indiana County Head Start, Salvation Army, Indiana Lions Club, Indiana Basketball Boosters, Indiana Ice Hockey, Indiana Soccer Boosters, Indiana Wrestling Boosters, Indiana County YMCA, Indiana Little League, Indiana Free Library, and many other worthy organizations and charities.
