The County Prosecuting Attorney is elected to a four-year term.
Responsibilities of the Prosecuting Attorney is the prosecution of all crimes that violate state laws, ranging from traffic tickets to homicide.
The Prosecuting Attorney does not prosecute local city ordinances, the office has exclusive jurisdiction over all felony crimes committed in Adair County and misdemeanor offenses which occur in the unincorporated areas of the county.
