About Havre de Grace Maritime Museum

Havre de Grace Maritime Museum

The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the rich maritime history, cultural heritage, traditional skills, and environmental legacy of the Lower Susquehanna River and Upper Chesapeake Bay region. Our mission guides our educational and community-driven programming as we illuminate the deep connections between the region’s people and its waterways. From lectures and environmental programs to boating and fishing classes, we strive to foster a greater understanding of this unique and ecologically vibrant area.

Located at the confluence of the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay, our 10,000-square-foot facility features interactive exhibits, two galleries that serve as event spaces, a working boat shop, and an Environmental Center with classroom and laboratory spaces. As part of the historic Concord Point Heritage Corridor and a designated site on the National Park Service’s John Smith and Star-Spangled Banner Trails, the Museum is a gateway to centuries of maritime tradition. We invite you to discover the stories, experiences, and natural beauty that define Havre de Grace—named a “charming Havre de Grace” by the Marquis de Lafayette in 1782.
