Sandy Police Department

Our mission is rooted in community-oriented policing strategies, emphasizing collaboration with stakeholders to address and prioritize law enforcement efforts in alignment with identified critical areas. We recognize our integral role in fostering community engagement and actively strive to participate in activities that not only deter crime but also alleviate the fear of crime.

Central to our ethos is the principle of treating all individuals with dignity and respect, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, color, or sexual orientation. Upholding these values, we endeavor to cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment where every member of our community feels valued and protected.

The Sandy Police Department's scope of operations encompasses a diverse range of functions, including criminal interdiction, investigative activities, traffic management and enforcement, and the provision of school resource services. Additionally, our Community Services officer is tasked with addressing city code violations and overseeing dog control measures.

Led by our Police Chief, our dedicated team comprises four Sergeants, eight patrol officers, one Detective, and two School Resource officers, supported by a skilled administrative staff consisting of one Records Manager and two Records Specialists. Ensuring round-the-clock coverage, our Patrol officers remain on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to promptly respond to and address public safety concerns within the Sandy community.
