The typical method of sports taping, using layers of athletic tape wrapped around an injured area in order to decrease mobility and provide pressure, can have the detrimental effect of limiting the flow of bodily fluids. Kinesio Taping, however, provides the inverse effect of preventing the contraction of muscles and stimulating the flow of fluids like lymph fluid, which is essential for the body in the healing process. K-Taping allows for a wide range of movement and does not constrict the area in question.
