Located in the historic Pioneer Hotel in downtown Elko, Nevada, the Wiegand Gallery is an exciting space featuring interactive exhibitions and multimedia presentations, including semi-permanent and temporary exhibitions drawn on the Western Folklife Center's collections as well as traveling exhibitions.
The Gallery and Black Box Theater have been reconfigured to provide a safe environment for our visitors. Forgot your mask? We've got plenty of bandanas and are happy to share!
For over 35 years, the Western Folklife Center has produced numerous educational exhibits based on our original research and fieldwork with traditional artists and art forms. As a part of this work, we have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of talented artists and displaying the documentary work of photographers and other visual artists to showcase the creativity, stories, and voices from throughout the western United States and from horse cultures worldwide.
