Monkeypox is not considered an international health emergency by the WHO.
The World Health Organization ( WHO ) said today that for the moment the outbreak of monkeypox in Europe and countries in other regions should not be considered an international health emergency, as is the case with covid-19.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made this decision following the recommendation of a group of experts convened to deliberate on the severity of this outbreak, a sign of concern about the increase in infected people.
