Goodbye, Internet Explorer!
This Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Microsoft will formally retire Internet Explorer at the age of 27.
"If you're a web developer working on a modern website or app, we know you've been waiting for this day for a long time," Microsoft wrote in a blog post announcing the change. "Internet Explorer has been increasingly difficult to support alongside modern browsers."
The final goodbye came at the hands of the general manager of Microsoft Edge Enterprise, Sean Lyndersay when he pointed out in May that "the future of Internet Explorer in Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge."
