Diesel Exhaust Fluid

Reduce Emissions and Improve Fuel Economy

In January 2010, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) brought in new emissions standards requiring medium and heavy-duty vehicles to significantly reduce engine emissions. Vehicle manufacturers use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology which requires Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to remove harmful emissions from diesel engines, breaking down gases into nitrogen and water. This means that most new diesel vehicles are being fitted with SCR and DEF tanks that must be regularly refilled.
