College Prep

OFL's independent study program helps students learn to manage their time and teaches them the study habits of successful college students. At OFL, students are prepared for life after high school whether that means attending a junior college or 4-year university, joining the military, attending a technical or trade school, or entering the workforce. With A-G courses, post-secondary and career counseling, financial aid resources, scholarship opportunities, and college tours, students are able to reach their goals and realize their dreams are possible.

CREW

CREW is a 15-month program designed to prepare and guide students to achieve their dream of attending college. Junior and senior participants attend college readiness classes, team-building workshops, field trips, and community service events, and compete to earn college scholarships.

College Tours

OFL partners with Pathways Travels to offer organized College Tours to any OFL high school student. Tours include campus visits, discussions with college/university freshmen, and workshops to help students learn:

What to consider when selecting a college or university, including major and minor programs, sports, cost, clubs, location, and campus life

Critical application processes like obtaining references and applying for financial aid

Senior Signing Day

For graduating seniors, OFL hosts Senior Signing Day events in which participants formally sign college acceptance letters. Many of the students at OFL’s Senior Signing Days are the first in their families to attend college. These ceremonies, often visited by esteemed members of the community, serve as an opportunity for seniors to celebrate their accomplishments and express gratitude to those who helped them along the way. Experience the joy firsthand – watch as SFV seniors commit to the next phase of their education at the 2014-2015 regional Signing Day event!
