Temporary Stay Permit "Parole" The temporary stay permit allows a person who is otherwise inadmissible or ineligible to be admitted to the United States, to travel and stay in the United States for a temporary period. The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) allows the Secretary of Homeland Security to use his discretion to grant temporary stay permission to any alien seeking temporary admission to the United States for humanitarian reasons or for significant public benefit.
