LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM
8 week semester
August 22, 2022 - October 15, 2022
The Las Vegas Ice Center’s “Learn to Skate” is an all-year-round program designed for all levels and ages of skaters. Classes are based on the Ice Sports Industry (ISI) skating programs with multiple weeks semesters and award patches for different levels of achievement. Programs are offered in group classes. Classes are 30 minutes in length (follow by 10-15 minutes of practice skate ice*). Great place to start for kids and adults who are interested in figure skating, hockey, or recreational ice skating. Classes provide direction and build competency in all important foundation moves for figure skaters and hockey players. Forward and backward skating, stopping, turning, edges, jumps and spins are taught in fun and exciting low-cost group lessons.
Classes are divided into two groups (by levels):
1. For skaters that never skated before and skaters with very little ice skating experience.
Tots (under 6 years old), Beginner (6 and up), Advanced Beginner, Pre Alpha Levels
A helmet and other protective gear is highly recommended but not required. Skaters should dress warm and bring gloves.
Skaters looking to start in hockey classes must pass the “Advanced Beginner” level before signing up for LVIC Hockey Program.
2. For skaters that have passed the “Pre-Alpha” level and skaters with more advanced skating skills
Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta & Freestyle 1-4 Levels
If you just want to try one class, we offer a "Drop-In" fee of $20 per class.
We offer a 10% discount for active military members if you sign up with more than one child from the same family. Only one discount can be applied per enrollment. In order to receive a discount for multiple skaters or military discounts, please sign up in person at the Las Vegas Ice Center Front Desk.
