Water heaters provide hot water for basic amenities like bathing, a dishwasher, a laundry washer, cooking, and even space heating. Many repairs can be done to a water heater. Now, the only question is…what problem are you having? Most problems with a water heater are due to plumbing, breaks, or leaks. The most common issues are no hot water, not enough hot water, rusty colored water, low rumbling or popping noise emitted from the water heater, rotten egg odor, higher pitched whining when operating, and, but is not limited to, water leaking from the bottom of the heater. Water heaters in general tend to break down as they get older, this is due to wear and tear. This can also cause the components that heat the water to stop working. Sediment buildup and corrosion are also common occurrences when looking at a used water heater. There are also issues that are associated with the type of water heater you are using, gas and electric.
