Introduction

The vision is to improve the relationship between our highways and our communities, improve the state’s public image, welcome visitors, increase tourism and development opportunities and enhance the attractiveness of transportation corridors while celebrating the state’s diversity.

Master Plan

The Master Plan provides enhanced visions for the state highway system, provides policies and guiding principles, describes the planning and design process, and discusses general characteristics that influence landscape and aesthetics planning and design for various classifications of highways, open space, and rest areas.

Corridor Plans

The individual plans contain recommendations for various corridors on the following:

Guidelines for the design of highway facilities including themes, levels of treatment, cost goals, and priorities for further development, design, and construction.

Rights-of-way design and planning guidelines.

Cooperative planning in association with local governments along each corridor.
