Heat Program


The Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) Program assists low-income households with energy and water costs. Households may apply for a one-time benefit per year. HEAT applications will be accepted Oct 1st through September 30th.

The CRISIS Program can provide additional assistance with your utility bills if you have a shut-off notice and meet State & Federal CRISIS guidelines.

How do I qualify for HEAT?

To qualify for HEAT assistance in Summit, Utah or Wasatch counties, you must meet the following guidelines:

Must be the person responsible for the utilities

Must have a total household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty line for the month preceding your application (see income chart).

Must have at least one person in your household who is a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen.
