The Deschutes River Alliance (DRA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of the Deschutes River in Central Oregon. Founded in 2005, DRA works to protect and restore the river's health by advocating for responsible water management, restoring habitat, and engaging communities in education and stewardship. Through its efforts, DRA seeks to ensure that the Deschutes River remains healthy for generations to come. DRA works with local governments, landowners, businesses, and other stakeholders to identify solutions that will help restore the river's health. This includes advocating for improved water management practices that reduce impacts from development and agriculture; restoring degraded habitats such as wetlands; improving fish passage; reducing pollution from urban runoff; and engaging local communities through education programs on how they can help protect the river. The ultimate goal of DRA's work is to restore the Deschutes River, so it can continue providing clean drinking water, recreational opportunities, habitat for wildlife species, and economic benefits for local communities.
