Garbage Disposal

When installing a garbage disposal, it is crucial to begin by ensuring that the power to the unit has been completely turned off. Following this safety measure, proceed to disconnect the drain hose leading to the dishwasher and unscrew the two screws holding the drain pipe in place. Employ a pair of pliers to turn the food grinder counterclockwise at the top of the machine underneath the sink, allowing it to disconnect from the flange and be removed from the sink. During the reconnection of the new garbage disposal, remember to remove the drain plug within the drain connection where the dishwasher hose connects to prevent drainage issues. Securely reinstall the top of the garbage disposal underneath the sink to the flange and use pliers to firmly attach it until it clicks into place. Finally, reconnect the drain line with the flange using the previously removed screws, and carefully connect the dishwasher drain line to the garbage disposal using a clamp, ensuring proper alignment to avoid potential leaks or corrosion of the inlet pipe over time.
