How to Apply:
To become a volunteer, simply email us at volunteer@couragereins.org with your name, email, phone number, and age. Our team will guide you through the volunteer application process and help you get started.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Must be at least 14 years old.
- Good health with the ability to be physically active for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently with minimal staff supervision.
- Positive attitude and agreement to follow the Courage Reins Code of Conduct.
- Willingness to commit to an extended volunteering period.
Please note that riding is not a volunteer activity.
Internships:
Explore the realm of therapeutic horsemanship while earning college credit through our internships. Support client lesson plans alongside trained instructors, caring for our horses while learning valuable skills.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Flexibility is key – choose shifts that suit you best. Once you apply, you'll gain access to our scheduling platform, allowing you to select the times and roles that align with your interests and skills.

Be Someone's "One":
Become that special "One" for someone in need. Indicate your interest in being a one-on-one support when filling out the Individual Volunteer Application Form. Your presence can make a world of difference.
Required Training:
Safety is paramount. Our comprehensive volunteer training and certification program ensures the well-being of our horses, riders, and volunteers. This program, aligned with the guidelines of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), provides valuable techniques and methods. Once your application is approved, you'll receive information about the training schedule, setting you on the path to a fulfilling and impactful volunteer journey.
