Prosper Placer

Prosper Placer is a visionary program committed to aiding families residing at or below the poverty threshold who are driven to enact substantial, lasting transformations in their lives. It addresses a pivotal aspect of social services: while families receive support from various agencies during times of acute need, these critical services often wane as families endeavor to rebuild their lives, potentially leading to cycles of poverty and dependence on government aid. In our Placer Prosper Program, families are thoughtfully matched with two to three dedicated volunteer "allies" who provide steadfast guidance and support throughout their transformative journey. This process equips families with the knowledge, skills, and essential support required to break the cycle of poverty and forge a brighter future. Prosper Placer is a testament to successful nationwide initiatives and represents a unique partnership between local churches and Child Advocates of Placer County. The churches generously contribute volunteer allies, offer meeting spaces with communal meals, and provide childcare, while Child Advocates offers the non-profit infrastructure, overseeing staff responsible for ally recruitment, liaising with churches, and implementing the program's curriculum, ensuring a holistic and impactful approach to community empowerment.
