On-the-Job Training

Employer-Based Training Opportunities

When employers find themselves with vacant positions, they frequently face a choice between hiring an already skilled worker or someone in need of additional training. Should the employer opt for the latter, and choose to bring on an individual lacking prior experience in the role, they can initiate an on-the-job training arrangement through the Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA). Within this agreement, the local program may cover up to fifty percent (50%) of the trainee's wages throughout the designated training duration. It's contingent on the employer's commitment to hire the trainee upon successful completion of the training.
