Introducing LLS's Patient Financial Assistance program—a lifeline for those facing the staggering financial challenges associated with blood cancer. At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we firmly believe that no patient should be denied treatment due to financial constraints. Recognizing the escalating financial burden that comes with blood cancer care, we've developed a range of financial assistance programs to alleviate the financial stress that can hinder access to crucial treatments.
Cancer should be the primary concern for patients and their families, not the cost of treatment. With generous donor support, LLS is committed to ensuring that dealing with the financial aspects of cancer is the least of a patient's worries. Our Patient Financial Assistance program includes initiatives such as Travel Assistance, featuring The Susan Lang Pay-It-Forward Patient Travel Assistance Program and The Pre-CAR T-cell Therapy Travel Assistance Program. Additionally, our Urgent Need program provides a crucial annual $500 grant for non-medical expenses to blood cancer patients in acute financial distress.
We understand that the impact of blood cancer extends beyond medical bills, affecting daily life and basic needs. LLS's Local Financial Assistance program establishes funds locally, providing eligible patients and families with a $500 stipend every six months for essential expenses like travel, rent, and food. Moreover, our Patient Aid program offers a one-time stipend for patients undergoing blood cancer treatment, regardless of their financial circumstances.
At LLS, we are dedicated to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to vital treatments. Our Patient Financial Assistance program stands as a testament to our commitment to supporting patients and their families every step of the way, making it possible for them to focus on healing rather than financial strain.
