Albany will have the unique opportunity to witness live a legend in the world of classical orchestral music – harpist Ann Hobson-Pilot. Hired by the Boston Symphony in 1969 as an assistant principal harpist and principal harpist of the Boston Symphony, she was the first African-American woman to be in a major symphony orchestra. Her legacy spans the eras of Arthur Fiedler, John Williams, Seiji Ozawa, James Levine, as well as many other internationally renowned conductors. Hear her perform live with the ASO in the historic Old Mount Zion Church.
