E Center's Migrant Seasonal Head Start program is dedicated to serving the unique needs of children aged 4 weeks to 5 years whose families work in agriculture-related industries such as produce fields, canning, and packing plants. Recognizing the challenges faced by migrant and seasonal agricultural workers, our program provides comprehensive support to ensure that children receive quality early childhood education and care.
Our program offers two primary service options: Center-Based Care and Family Child Care Homes. During harvest times, typically from late spring through mid/late fall depending on crop cycles, both options are available for up to twelve hours a day, five days a week. This extended availability is essential to accommodate the demanding schedules of agricultural work and provide families with reliable childcare options.
Center-based care offers a structured learning environment where children engage in age-appropriate activities that promote their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Similarly, Family Child Care Homes provide a nurturing setting within a home environment, allowing for individualized attention and care under the guidance of trained caregivers.
Currently offered in Butte, Yuba, Sutter, Tehama, Glenn, Lake, Colusa, and Yolo counties, our Migrant Seasonal Head Start program is committed to supporting migrant and seasonal agricultural worker families by providing accessible, high-quality early childhood education and care services.
