Mile High 100 Century Ride

The 40th Annual Mile High 100 Cycling Event, hosted by the Almanor Recreation and Park District, soared to new heights with over 200 enthusiastic participants gathering in Chester on June 17, 2023. Cyclists hailing from Northern California and Nevada embarked on scenic routes spanning 33, 68, or 100 miles, enjoying picturesque views and camaraderie under the sun-kissed skies.

This year's event featured exciting enhancements, including a fresh route through Westwood and meticulously curated rest stops offering sustenance and support. From the hospitality of volunteers at the Walker Mansion to the warmth of Chester's own Bodfish Bicycles, riders were treated to unparalleled hospitality along their journey. The ride culminated at the Almanor Recreation Center, where participants indulged in a delectable lunch catered by Cravings and savored refreshing brews courtesy of Timber House Brewing.

Gratitude abounds for the tireless efforts of volunteers, organizers, and the generous support of sponsors like Chase International Lake Almanor Brokers, Plumas Bank, and Coldwell Banker Kehr O'Brien Real Estate, among others. Their contributions ensured the success of this cherished fundraising event, with all proceeds benefiting ARPD programs, events, and essential capital improvement projects dedicated to enhancing recreation, parks, and trails within the community.
