Poker Paddle

The 5th Annual Poker Paddle in 2023 was an unforgettable affair, with nearly 100 paddlers reveling in a perfect day on the water. Against the backdrop of a full lake and under the warm sun, participants enjoyed a leisurely morning paddle followed by a delicious lunch provided by Plumas Pines. The idyllic setting allowed for moments of relaxation on the lawn, making it a truly immersive experience for all involved. With ideal weather conditions and calm waters, it's no wonder that this event quickly sold out, solidifying its status as a highlight of the summer calendar.

Excitement buzzed as paddlers competed for top honors in the poker competition. The stakes were high, with the winning hand claiming a coveted $200 cash prize, while second place secured $100. Even the holder of the worst hand didn't leave empty-handed, walking away with a stylish sunhat and matching Microfiber Beach towel courtesy of Almanor Wake Sports. Notably, half of the 100 registered paddlers hailed from the local community of the Almanor Basin, showcasing the event's strong appeal to residents. As always, the success of the Poker Paddle wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of volunteers who generously donated their time, for which heartfelt gratitude is extended.
