Leadership Delaware Applications Available

Leadership Delaware, an initiative of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and SUNY Delhi, is seeking people with deep commitments to community service who would benefit from strengthening leadership skills while developing a professional network.

The 2017 Leadership Delaware program is accepting applications for its 10-month curriculum that begins in March. Up to 15 individuals are selected to participate in the ten-month educational program beginning in March. Participants receive in-depth exposure to critical issues facing the Catskill Mountain region through lectures, discussion groups, on-site visits, and other leadership development activities.  Issues addressed during the year include health and human services, government process and the judicial system, agriculture, arts, culture, and tourism, education, industry, and quality of life.

Participants must have a high level of leadership in their career and will be selected based on:
A commitment and motivation to serve their community.
Previous community service or a desire to become involved in community activities such as governing and/or decision-making boards or volunteer leadership roles.
An interest in public service and a desire to learn more about public policy.
The potential to advance to a leadership position within their company.
A commitment to remain employed in Delaware County.
Preference will be given to Delaware County residents but those outside the county are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be sponsored by a business or a community leader and provide references.
Tuition, payable by a sponsor or a participant, is $495 and includes all materials and fees. The programs meet one-full day monthly beginning in March 2017.
