A grassroots effort to provide hurricane relief in 2000 has grown to a national health network supply chain, largely supported by Dominican businesses. While this process happened organically, it would not have happened without the dedicated efforts of CitiHope Vice President of Latin America, Tim Tuccelli, and his family. Their inventive new initiatives and dedicated work birthed a strategic alliance: a private-public partnership called Sanar Una Nación (Spanish for “Heal A Nation”) the most important business social responsibility alliance in the Dominican Republic. The alliance is made up of Grupo Rica, Grupo Popular, Grupo Ramos and Grupo Universal, Dominican companies of great recognition and extensive experience in the country, together with CitiHope and the support of Pagés BBDO.
