Our country is in the middle of an addiction crisis the likes of which weve never seen. The statistics are more than alarming. Theyre almost unbelievable. Despite enormous amounts of attention from the media and public policymakers, things are not getting better. The latest data from the National Institutes of Health reveal just how serious opioid addiction in the United States is and the fact that we have a lot of work to do to change course.
