London’s first art’otel will be opening at Battersea Power Station soon, with 164 rooms designed by award-winning Spanish artist and interior designer, Jaime Hayon. This art-inspired, luxury lifestyle hotel will be one of London’s most anticipated hotel openings.

The hotel will be located within Battersea Roof Gardens, a new building designed by Foster + Partners forming a key part of Electric Boulevard, a new high street for London offering a great mix of bars, restaurants, office space, shops, a park, and a community hub. Electric Boulevard will run from the south of the Power Station between Frank Gehry’s Prospect Place and Foster + Partners’ Battersea Roof Gardens to the newly opened Zone 1 Battersea Power Station Underground Station. Art’otel will feature JOIA, a new skyline destination restaurant, and bar, a rooftop swimming pool, as well as a gym, spa, event facilities, and a Grand Café.

Situated on the top floors of the new 164-room hotel, JOIA will comprise three spaces, a 15th-floor restaurant; a bar on the 14th floor; and a rooftop bar with an infinity pool. The menu will highlight Michelin star Portuguese chef, Henrique Sá Pessoa’s culinary heritage and travels across the Iberian Peninsula, using the best of British and Iberian produce.

Hayon’s designs are inspired by the Power Station’s history and heritage, as well as its future as the center of a new cultural neighborhood for London. The guest bedrooms showcase a bold and colorful palette, while art plays a key role in the wider design concept of the hotel. Hayon is one of the most acclaimed designers worldwide with work showcased at high-profile galleries and exhibitions including London’s Design Museum, High Museum in Atlanta, Daelim Museum in Korea, Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, and Design Museum Holon in Israel.
