Helen is an indigenous-female artist. She is a member of the Nez Perce Tribe with Sioux and Ponca descent. She resides in Spokane, WA with her daughter. She is a Communication Coordinator and attending Gonzaga University for graduate school in Communication and Leadership. Helen grew up in a household of art; both parents attended art school, therefore art was in her being and always supported. She is inspired by Nez Perce "Dreamer" style artists and the fashion of modern day indigenous people. She is a self-taught graphie designer and acrylie painter who wants to pursue clay sculpting and printing. Helen's art focuses on Native American tradition and culture, pride, and acceptance. She considers her style to be traditional art infused with modern and classic fashion. Her work focuses on portraying confident with a styled edge. Helen provides a story of movement and presence for indigenous awareness. Through a visual voice, she hopes to demonstrate many versions of being indigenous, true to one's self, traditional, and a proud indigenous Native American today.
