Emergency Medical Services

The West County EMS and Fire Protection District responds to approximately 7,000 calls for service annually, roughly 70% of which are for Emergency Medical Services. All West County apparatus are staffed by licensed paramedics/Firefighters and are equipped with state-of-the-art Advanced Life Support equipment, including Zoll cardiac monitors/defibrillators. Professional Medical Control is provided by Dr. John Wilmas, MD, with Mercy Hospital-St. Louis, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center. An ALS Ambulance is deployed from each of the District's three stations, with an additional off-road Kubota resource deployed from Station 3.
