Domiciliary care refers to help or treatment someone receives in their own home. This can range from personal care and companionship to more specialist care such as dementia and palliative care.

Everyone’s circumstances are different and can change throughout the course of a care plan. Someone who has been discharged from the hospital, for example, may need a substantial level of support to begin with, which will gradually ease off as they begin to recover.
