Pursuant to the Blueprint for a Safer Economy issued by the Governor’s office on August 28, 2020, and other applicable authority, schools within a county are permitted to reopen for in-person instruction 14 days after the state transitions the county from Tier 1 (Purple) to Tier 2 (Red) as of October 13, 2020.

On behalf of Maricopa Unified School District (“District”), this document shall serve as official notice of the District’s intention to begin the process of reopening its public schools on Thursday, October 29, 2020 (First-day students will be on campus implementing MUSD Plan Opt. #3). The District will implement the reopening of its schools pursuant to its Board approved Reopening Schools Plan prepared by the District in consultation with current health and safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health.
