At New Mexico Ferments, we understand the challenges of finding healthy beverage options, especially in a world where many products are highly processed and filled with preservatives, sugar, or alcohol. Founded from a desire for better choices, Kara embarked on a journey to craft delicious and nutritious kombucha. With years of experience and training from the CNM Brewing & Beverage Management Program and industry leaders, Kara has developed unique kombucha formulas prioritizing health and quality. Established in 2017 and under Kara’s management since 2018, New Mexico Ferments has continually improved its recipes, quality control, and community outreach. We are dedicated to offering beverages that provide health benefits, using only the freshest ingredients from trusted and sustainable local partners.
Our kombucha is now featured in over 130 locations, including bars, restaurants, cafes, spas, shops, and yoga studios across New Mexico. New Mexico Ferments celebrates local food systems, resilience, and agriculture, incorporating local flavors and produce into our products. In 2020, Kara and her partner Lynda expanded their operations by purchasing a farm property south of Albuquerque, allowing them to grow and process their raw ingredients. This farm enables us to create exciting seasonal ferments, such as kimchi and sauerkraut, using produce from our farm and local markets. When sourcing ingredients externally, we prioritize supporting local small businesses, ensuring our ecosystem of businesses and farmers thrives together. At New Mexico Ferments, we are committed to nurturing a healthy culture and community through our craft.
