John Mortland Photography

John Mortland Photography is founded on decades of global experience, technical expertise, and a passion for storytelling through imagery. After a 20-year career as a United States Air Force pilot flying Observation and Reconnaissance Aircraft, John transitioned his lifelong interest in photography into a professional pursuit. Now established in Colorado Springs, he specializes in helping business sire with professional portraits and event coverage. His work extends across sports, families, events, commercial assignments, and aerial imagery.

John brings exceptional qualifications to his craft, including an Associate of Applied Science in Photography, teaching roles at Pike’s Peak Community College, and FAA certifications as a Part 107 Drone Pilot and multi-rated commercial pilot. His images have been featured in publications such as Springs Magazine, Healthy Coloradan, and Defined, and he is an active member of professional organizations, including: PPA, PPGCS and CSC&EDC. With a combination of skill, experience, and artistic vision, John is committed to creating memorable, meaningful images that reflect each client’s story.
